Saccharomyces cerevisiae GeneDB

Saccharomyces cerevisiae logo

The S. cerevisiae GeneDB data resource was built using the sequence from the initial sequencing program The Yeast Genome Directory, including the resequenced version of chromosome III ( MIPS). The CDS descriptions were downloaded from SGD in November 2000. The sequence was reannotated using the same criteria used for the initial annotation of S. pombe at the Sanger Institute. The updated set of 5804 proteins was used to populate this database.

This resource is provided to link potential homologs in the two sequenced yeasts, and to provide a launch point to access the curated S. cerevisiae data in SGD, MIPS and Swiss-Prot. It will not contain data manually curated from the literature, although title lines are updated to reflect new characterizations.
