GeneDB Help: Linking |
|
You are free to link to pages within our site without explicit permission. Please don't make them appear as though they are part of another site.
Please note: We are not using our final planned system. That will probably have a different preferred URL for linking. We will certainly try to maintain backwards compatibility but would prefer if you contact us if you do choose to link to us so we can inform you if the preferred linking URL changes.
If you want to link to our gene pages you can use:
http://www.genedb.org/genedb/Search?name=***&organism=___ eg http://www.genedb.org/genedb/Search?organism=S.+pombe&name=SPBC11B10.09
where *** (name) is the systematic id or gene name. If this is unique (which the systematic id will be) this takes you direct to the gene page. If the term matches more than one gene a list of matching genes is displayed. You may also use a * wildcard
and ___ (organism) is eg S. pombe. (Note on internal links you may also see a nickname eg pombe used). The full list of available organisms is available on a seperate page.
Both the name and organism have to be properly URL encoded.
If you want to link a specific organisms homepage you can use:
http://www.genedb.org/genedb/Homepage?o=___ eg http://www.genedb.org/genedb/Homepage?o=B.+fragilis
Again ___ (organism) is eg B. fragilis. The full list of available organisms is available on a seperate page.
Both the name and organism have to be properly URL encoded.
