WARNING: 28th August 2008
We continue to have problems downloading Boolean search results. We are working to resolve them.

The Pathogen Sequencing Unit is involved in the sequencing of variant surface glycoprotein (VSG) bloodstream expression sites (BES) cloned from T. brucei strain 427. In addition to 3 already published expression site BACs (see here for further information), a telomere-specific library of 182 bloodstream expression sites was constructed using the 427 dominant expression site promoter as recombinational target (see here for further information). Based on their BES promoter type and their ESAG6 type, these clones were further sorted into a minimal set of 17 groups. Representative clones of each of the BES types are currently being processed via the sequencing pipline (to monitor progress, click here).
