WARNING: 28th August 2008
We continue to have problems downloading Boolean search results. We are working to resolve them.

The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute Pathogen Sequencing Unit (PSU) is partially shotgun sequencing the nuclear genome of the human-infective Trypanosoma brucei gambiense. The current assembly consists of a ca. 8x whole genome shotgun which has been further assembled/analysed by comparison to the T. brucei genome. Contigs from the T. b. gambiense assembly were ordered using regions of conserved synteny with T. brucei chromosomes and, based on this, are represented here as 11 pseudomolecules. This version 2 dataset consist of 1093 contigs, totalling 20.04 Mb of sequence and containing 8622 manually annotated sequences. The vast majority of these CDSs encode house-keeping genes. In addition, 1133 contigs (approx. 10.1 Mb of sequence) are accessible via the BLAST servers. These largely sub-telomeric sequences are currently undergoing manual annotation.

Please address all sequencing enquiries to Dr. Matt Berriman (Project Manager - email: mb4@sanger.ac.uk).
